A Book Of Remembrance: Wisdom From The AgesSample

“Truth, like gold, is to be obtained not by its growth, but by washing away from it all that is not gold.”
-Leo Tolstoy-
Truth is one of the most valuable traits in God’s eyes. In fact, Jesus Christ said that He IS the truth! (John 14:6) Our adversary Satan, on the other hand, is the father of lies. (John 8:44) There is not a speck of truth in him! Today, let us ask ourselves a question. Are we filled with the Godliness of truth, or are we covered in Satan’s lies?
How fitting is it that Leo Tolstoy recognized the way to obtain truth in a similar fashion to the way God describes the process in today’s Bible verse. In order to find the golden center of truth, one must wash away all the lies that cover it!
Too many times we as Christians tend to shift all of our focus onto the Grace of God, without taking into account the fact that sometimes He has to refine us. He wants us to change from our sinful ways! Yes, He is a merciful God, but He also wants us to be the best we can be. Sometimes the refining process can hurt! God likens it to the fiery refining of silver and gold! (Malachi 3:2)
So, for today, let us examine ourselves to see what areas in our lives aren’t “golden.” Let us choose to change them voluntarily so God doesn’t have to refine us with fiery trials. Let us step out of the darkness of sin and lies, and into the light of Godliness and truth. Remember, it is the truth that sets us free. (John 8:32)
About this Plan

There is an unbreakable law of history. That which has happened before will happen again, if the same ingredients are present. Looking at the lessons of history through the lens of God's word will provide us with the best ingredients to give us a God centered life. It is truly a recipe for success!
