Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

DAY 328 OF 365

I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked tum from his way and live (Ezekiel 33:11).

Are you being a good watchperson for Jesus?

Watchmen have an important task. They are to scan the countryside and alert the people if an enemy approaches. God uses this analogy for Ezekiel to fully grasp his assignment. Concerning an invading army, God instructs the son of man, "if he blows the trumpet and warns the people, then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own head" (Ezekiel 33:3-4). Ezekiel's responsibility parallels the watchman. If he does not warn the people, then their blood is upon his hands (Ezekiel 33:6). Indeed, we have also been called to alert the people of approaching judgment if they don't turn from their sin to Jesus.

Employment Point: Warn the unsaved to believe on Jesus to escape coming judgment.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
