Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Again He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, 'O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!’'' (Ezekiel 37:4).
Do you believe that God can give life to the spiritually dead?
Ezekiel is called to do something seemingly ridiculous; the Lord calls him to speak to dry bones, which represent Israel. Although they are spiritually dead, only God's Word can bring Israel back to life. Ezekiel is confronted with the following question: Can I trust the power of God to give life to the dead? By faith Ezekiel proclaims God's Word, and the bones come to life. Moreover, we are called to proclaim the gospel to the spiritually dead. Don't forget what the Lord has done for us. "Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ," writes Paul (Ephesians 2:5). Daily speak God's living Word to the dead, believing that the Lord can save them!
Employment Point: Trust God to raise the spiritually dead through the gospel.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
