Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Do you daily rely upon God's mercy?
Judah deserves to be totally annihilated because of her idolatrous ways. Yet the Lord preserves a remnant of the people. Jeremiah experiences a low in his life and ministry because of the devastation of the nation he loves. The weeping prophet pours out his heart to God. He prays, "Remember my affliction and roaming, the wormwood and the gall. My soul still remembers and sinks within me" (Lamentations 3:19-20). As Jeremiah turns to the Lord, he is given hope (Lamentations 3:21).
Based upon God's mercy, we should heed Paul's exhortation: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1).
Employment Point: Commit to serving the Lord, who daily extends mercy to you.
