Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year One

DAY 320 OF 365

Even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver only themselves by their righteousness (Ezekiel 14:14).

What is the danger of persistent disobedience?

David writes, "God is a just judge, and God is angry with the wicked every day" (Psalm 7:11). Yet, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). We learn about God's justice and longsuffering from the Bible. Wisdom cries out that the latter should not be presumed upon. The Lord declares His displeasure in Judah. Even if the great men of God-Noah, Daniel, and Job lived currently in Israel, He would still chasten them. Ezekiel writes, "Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it" (Ezekiel 14:13).

Employment Point: Obey the Lord instantly and don't presume upon His patience.
