Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb is a reward (Psalm 127:3).
Do you honor children as a gift from God?
God’s Word places great emphasis on the value of children. Unlike the other nations, the Israelites were to despise child sacrifice (Deuteronomy 12:31). Moreover, parents and grandparents are tasked to school their children and grandchildren in the ways of the Lord (Deuteronomy 6:1-9). Also, Jesus made time out of His busy schedule to bless the children. Mark 10:13 reveals that “they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.” Our Lord corrects His followers and commands, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14). Jesus’ statement shows that even those unwanted children aborted by their parents are welcome in heaven.
Employment Point: Make time to bless children through your words and deeds.
