REFLECT + FOCUS

Before the disciples were filled by the Holy Spirit, they ran away under persecution - Peter even denied that he knew Jesus.

But just a few weeks later, after being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter stood up in front of a huge crowd, at the risk of being arrested, and proclaimed boldly the gospel of Jesus Christ.

These men had been transformed from shivering cowards, into bold, faithful witnesses - through the Holy Spirit living in them.

Ten of the eleven remaining disciples would go on to be martyred for their faith.

Many men worry if they can follow through on their promises - and as a result, they hesitate to commit fully to what is in front of them. Whether it is to a woman in marriage, to a job, a ministry, or to following Christ.

But the result of the Holy Spirit living in you is having His faithfulness, even unto death.

The more we remain in Christ, and live in step with the Holy Spirit from our spirits within us, the bolder we will be, and the more faithful we will become.

The beginning of this journey is to fix our eyes on the Faithful Witness, Himself, and entrust ourselves fully into His hands.

Do not fear - even if we stumble in weakness, we just get up, surrender our lives once more and keep walking faithfully. Remember Peter, who once denied Christ, became a bold witness in a hostile environment and ended up being crucified upside-down for his faith.

As you declare today’s shout, ask God if there are commitments that you are avoiding. Thank Him for His faithfulness living in you that gives you strength to be faithful.

A faithful man will be richly blessed.
