Tailored Dreams

Devotional
"Style takes commitment."

Tailoring your dreams is a process of creating a new mind state. It’s not about changing your dreams. It’s about changing your habits and your thought process. You are what you do consistently. You are who you spend the most time with. What does that say about you?

Is it true that I am defined by what I do consistently? In the aforementioned scripture it says, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” When you seek something with your whole heart, that means you have committed to finding it and won’t stop until you do. You won’t settle for any outcome other than a victorious one.

Seeking God’s will for your life is the only way you will be able to learn to become a tailored dreamer. God is the tailor. You are the garment. Submit to God and commit to the process, and watch God’s plan begin to unfold in your life. Just as Jesus is real, the enemy is real too, and the enemy is committed to your failure.

The devil desires to have you, but the good news is that God is just as confident and more committed to your success than the devil is your failure. He wants the glory. The glory is what activates your shift, and it’s the catalyst for the change you want to see in your life.

Will you give him the glory? Will you praise him in the middle of the storm? Will you believe past belief? God wants all of you.

The scripture says, “Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Sometimes it may feel like we are playing hide and seek with God, but you will find God and he will be your tailor when you seek him with all of your heart. Are you as committed to God as he is to you?

To begin to carve out your commitment, answer these questions.
1. Am I truly committed to God?
2. What am I willing to give up to get closer to God?
3. What is one thing I can do every day to intentionally seek to be in God’s presence?

In order to accomplish this, think through “head, heart, and legs” for each item.

Head - What will I need to feed my mind in order to accomplish these tasks?
Heart - How will I build up resilience to be able to maintain emotional strength?
Legs - What habits will I need to form in order to accomplish these tasks?

Prayer starter
God, I thank you for my early rising. Please endow me with the power to become more like you daily. I surrender my will to your will. I commit to seeking you with my whole heart and complete soul. Father, I come to you with feeling of shame and emotional hurt.

I know that you are faithful and just to forgive me, and I am full of confidence and faith knowing that when I look for you with my whole heart, I will find you. In Jesus’ name, amen.
