"You were cut for this."
There is a purpose in your struggle. A diamond is created through pressure. A pearl is created from a drop of sand getting into a clam, and the pearl is birthed from the irritation. You were cut, or designed, for this very dream you have.
Try not to focus on what you don’t have or the ways you think you are unqualified. God not only qualified you, he justified you. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.
He made the decision to qualify you while you were still in the belly of your mother’s womb, he ordained you, and he called you. And since that moment, every day that you have lived has been preparing you for the next day.
Some of the best culinary works call for some of the most bitter or tasteless ingredients. A single ingredient by itself would not be something we would want to taste, but when blended with the other ingredients it goes from a pinch of salt to a delicious chocolate cake. A raw egg by itself may be hard to digest, but when you add a few more ingredients and add heat to it, an omelet is created and has a wonderful taste.
I learned a long time ago that there are no such things as good days or bad days, they are just days—days which the Lord has made, and I will rejoice and be glad “in it,” all of them. Good things happen and “bad” things happen, but I refuse to say a whole day is “bad.” I know that God cut me for this, that I am cut out for this, and that I will make it and become the person God has designed me to be.
To begin to remember you were cut for this, close your eyes and answer these questions.
1. What did God pre-qualify me for?
2. What are the bitter ingredients of my life that made life better later?
3. What do I have the power to do “good” every day in spite of my feelings?
In order to accomplish this, think through “head, heart, and legs” for each item.
Head - What will I need to feed my mind in order to accomplish these tasks?
Heart - How will I build up resilience to be able to maintain emotional strength?
Legs - What habits will I need to form in order to accomplish these tasks?
Lord of heaven and earth, I exalt your name; I choose to humble myself and turn to you for direction. God, forgive me for my sins, and help me forgive those who sin against me. Help me to live in a way that is pleasing to you.
Your word says that when a man’s ways please the Lord, he’ll make even his enemies be at peace with him. I ask that you transform my enemies into supporters, and make my haters my motivators. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
