#JESUS2020 - Daily DevotionalsSample

One Sunday at ICF Kids, a leader told the children to draw all the things Jesus’ disciples did.
Some of them were sharing the gospel, some were healing the sick, prophesying, anointing, walking on water, and some of them were even raising the dead. Only miracles!
A similar task was carried out at our youth group. Their task was to read the Gospel and write down all the verbs describing the actions of Jesus’ disciples.
It proved that the verbs that appeared most were the ones describing common, mundane actions.
Disciples just walked, rowed, ate some food, wandered around, brought someone sick to Jesus, walked with someone who had been healed, picked up pieces of bread, prepared a dinner, slept and again rowed, ate, walked. And directly in front of their eyes, Jesus was doing the biggest miracles in the history of the universe.
Disciples rowed more often than they walked on water. So why do we preach more often about walking on water than about the common, daily rowing for Jesus?
It appears that bringing someone sick to Jesus, walking with someone who has been healed, sharing bread, borrowing a donkey, preparing a dinner, and throwing a net are not common when you do it for Jesus! The Gospel is filled with miracles that were performed by Jesus, while at the same time the disciples were doing common, daily things.
During this week we are accompanied by the perspective of heaven and eternal glory. It is amazing that on the twelve thrones around Jesus people are going to sit who have made their mark by the fact that Jesus chose them, and they just followed Him in this journey.
Whatever you do because of Jesus, for Him or because He told you to do so – you are preparing room for a miracle. You are building a kingdom that lasts forever! Rowing for Jesus is never mundane.
ACTION STEP:
List your usual daily duties – preparing breakfast, going to school or work, picking up children from kindergarten, meeting friends. Think of them as your area of service and God’s blessings. Before leaving for work or school pray that these will be places where you will serve Jesus.

About this Plan

The Lamb of God dies in Jerusalem, on a cross. Three days later He rose from the dead - sin and death are overcome. Two thousand years later, His blood sets me free. During the weeks before Easter, we want to acquire a deeper understanding of this fundamental event of our faith, get to know Jesus better and experience how His loving deed on the cross changes our lives forever.
