#JESUS2020 - Daily Devotionals

DAY 29 OF 35

During this series, we have reflected a lot on chapter 12 of the biblical book Exodus. It is about the tenth plague, the Passover lamb, the angel of death, the deliverance. Now we would like to go back to the very beginning of this chapter. God commands His people to change their time reckoning. The year should now begin with the remembrance of the great deliverance of the people of Israel from Egypt.

About 1,400 years later, the time reckoning was changed again. It is now divided into before and after Christ. In contrast to the above-mentioned change in the time reckoning, which only applied regionally, namely to the Jews, this more recent change applies to the whole world. That also makes sense! If the first deliverance - under Moses - was for the people of Israel, the second deliverance, that of Jesus, is for the whole world.

God also wants you to set out into new eras in your life over and over again. He also wants you to experience this BEFORE and AFTER. A BEFORE, in which you may have been imprisoned by not being reconciled, and an AFTER, in which you may live in peace. A BEFORE in which you were tormented by self-doubt and an AFTER in which you may go through life with healthy self-confidence and God-confidence. God also wants to rewrite your time reckoning over and over again.

ACTION STEP:

Write down an area in which you have experienced a change in the past 40 days. What exactly has changed? How is the change visible? Thank God for this!

About this Plan

#JESUS2020 - Daily Devotionals

The Lamb of God dies in Jerusalem, on a cross. Three days later He rose from the dead - sin and death are overcome. Two thousand years later, His blood sets me free. During the weeks before Easter, we want to acquire a deeper understanding of this fundamental event of our faith, get to know Jesus better and experience how His loving deed on the cross changes our lives forever.
