#JESUS2020 - Daily DevotionalsSample

This passage shows us three points on how we should deal with change in our lives.
- "Commemorate": When we look back on our lives, we become aware of what the liberating power of Jesus Christ has already achieved, but we forget it all too quickly. So often we live with the worries and fears of the present that the testimonies of our past are lost. Commemorating is an important spiritual discipline because it nourishes our faith for the coming changes.
- “The Lord brings you out with a mighty hand”: The life of a follower of Jesus is a partnership. An interaction between us and God. Both of us bring in our share. Pride means, "I can do everything alone", it forgets the importance of the mighty hand of God in our lives. Change requires faith. Faith that the mighty hand of God did not only appear in the past but is also in the here and now.
- “The Lord swore to your ancestors to give you the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites and Jebusites.” The #JESUS 2020 series has hopefully helped you experience true lasting change in certain areas of your life, but this is only the beginning. The people of Israel were full of joy at the liberation from slavery, but God had much more to offer. He also wanted to give them the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, etc. Do not be satisfied with the change you have experienced. Be grateful for it but believe that the level of freedom in your life can be even greater. God wants to lead you into a land flowing with milk and honey.
ACTION STEP:
Where in your life have you experienced a partial breakthrough? You may already have experienced some freedom but there is still a lot of land to take in. Write down what the gained freedom already consists of and what freedom you still want to have.

About this Plan

The Lamb of God dies in Jerusalem, on a cross. Three days later He rose from the dead - sin and death are overcome. Two thousand years later, His blood sets me free. During the weeks before Easter, we want to acquire a deeper understanding of this fundamental event of our faith, get to know Jesus better and experience how His loving deed on the cross changes our lives forever.
