Spirit of regeneration 

Regeneration is the term used to describe the work of the Holy Spirit when someone becomes a Christian.  Jesus did not come simply to make us a new or better person, but instead so that we would become a new and different creation (2 Cor.5:17). We have all experienced a human birth but that only makes us human beings, now Jesus offers us a spiritual birth that makes us spiritual beings.  We needed a physical birth to enter a physical world and know our parents, we need a spiritual birth to enter a spiritual world and to know our Father in heaven.

Christianity is not about acquiring knowledge of the Christian faith or going to church but about being born again from above into a different environment and relationship with God.  Sonia and Anita Singh were two sisters in India born blind but given a simple operation so they could see.  When they were born, although physically alive their eyesight was “dead”.  When we were born physically we were spiritually dead but the Holy Spirit “operated” on us to give us spiritual life and re-create us in Christ (Eph.2:1-10). Now we are spiritually alive to God and God is alive to us!

Prayer: Thank You Holy Spirit that You because of You I am born again into the kingdom of God and can know Him as my Father
