Together - Daily DevotionalSample

Companion
We sometimes fail to reflect that the Holy Spirit is a companion and friend. In so doing we miss out on one of the richest elements of our Christian faith. In the Old Testament the Holy Spirit often came and went as He did with Samson (Jud.14:25, 16:20) and Saul (1 Sam.10:6, 16:14). But now Jesus promises that the Holy Spirit will be with us forever. We are not left alone like orphans but are adopted into God’s family with the Holy Spirit as our very own special companion. That is why we sing: “Behold I have a friend, The Spirit breathing holy fire within, My ever present help, Speaking truth when I can't find it. Light up this broken heart and light my way, 'Til my time on earth is done, Oh, Holy Spirit, Breathe in me like Kingdom come, Oh, Holy Spirit, Let Your work in me be done”.
Like all friendships, friendship with the Holy Spirit has to be cultivated. He is always there knocking on the door of your heart but like many friendships we can be so busy doing less important things that we ignore Him and turn a friend into a stranger. Yet He keeps knocking.
Prayer: Thank you Holy Spirit that you are my Companion forever. I open the door of my heart to cultivate a rich friendship with You
About this Plan

We have created TOGETHER – a Daily Devotional to help us as a community and you as an individual grow in your relationship with God. Every month we will explore different themes and deepen our understanding of Bible. We’re looking forward to doing this TOGETHER with our church.
