Guide
A guide is someone who understands more than you, can explain what is in front of you, knows the way ahead and can advise you on the best route. For example, many of us use sat-navs to travel to destinations we have never been to before and tourist guides explain places that are unfamiliar to visitors. In Joshua, the people were guided by the priests carrying the ark of God’s word because they had “never been this way before” (Jos.3:4). Abraham’s servant was guided to find Rebekah (Gen.24) and Paul was guided by the Holy Spirit to preach the gospel in Macedonia (Acts 16:6-10).
Paul’s experience is interesting because several times the Holy Spirit said, “No”. In other words Paul was already proceeding in a direction when the Holy Spirit re-directed him. It is said that it is easier to direct a ship that is moving than a ship that is stationary. So Abraham’s servant (like the wise men) was already on a journey when the Lord led him (Gen.24:27). Sometimes we wait for God to move when He is waiting for us!
The Holy Spirit is given to guide us into all truth and everything that God has for us.
Prayer: Thank you Holy Spirit that you do not leave me to figure out life on my own but guide me to fulfil my potential in God
About this Plan
