Forgiveness

Once I read a novel. In that novel, there was a thief. He escaped from jail and hid in a Catholic Pastor’s house. The Pastor also received this thief and treated him in a loving manner. He gave him food to eat and a bed to sleep. At night, after the Pastor slept, he robbed the silver candle stands and fled. He escaped from the Pastor’s house, but not from the policemen’s sight. The policemen caught him and brought him back to the Pastor’s house. But, the Pastor said, “It is I who gave him those silver candle stands. He did not steal it.” On hearing this, the thief felt guilty and had a change of heart and asked forgiveness to the Pastor.

What a godly love! The thief, who was supposed to be punished, tasted God’s love through this Pastor. Even we have received forgiveness from Lord Jesus Christ in the same manner. He was punished in the sinner’s place. When you have received this great love of God freely, give the same love freely to others too. Show love by forgiving their wrong doings. Remember, you are God’s ambassador. Walk like a citizen of heaven.

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, thank You for considering me a vessel to receive Your great love. I pray that You will give me the grace to express the same love to others too. Remove every unforgiving attitude in me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
