The Good King 

Once I visited a place called Kolhapur in India. There, many people were discussing about a king called Shahuji. His very thought brings tears to their eyes, even today. It was because when king Shahuji was living there, he helped many people who were banned from the society; he helped the poor children by building schools for them and also provided jobs for those who lived in penury. He even permitted the untouchables to prepare food for him in the palace. He never neglected them. King Shahuji was served by such people at his dining table till his death. He died at the age of 48 years and everyone shed bitter tears. Even today, they cry when they think of him. 

Beloved, Shahuji was an earthly king with a benevolent heart. He had only good intentions in his heart. He did only good to all. Will not your heavenly King do good for you? Yes, He is a very good King even more than all earthly kings. He will do the very best for you. He will safeguard you from all harm. He will never despise you. He lifts the downtrodden from the dust and makes them sit with Him. Do not worry. You have a good King who cares for you. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, You reign forever as the King. You are the King of kings. Your authority is supreme. I believe that I will receive only good things from your hands. Even today, I bring all my insufficiencies to Your presence. Fill me with Your goodness. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
