Blessing For Todayគំរូ

A Promise Kept
Many years ago, when my father had to undergo a training programme in RBI Training College (Reserve Bank of India), he had a roommate called Mr. Bhattachariya from West Bengal. Both of them became good friends. After the training got over, when my father was about to leave to Chennai, Mr. Bhattachariya promised my father, “If I get a chance to visit Chennai, I will bring very tasty fish curry prepared by my wife.” 20 years later, suddenly my father received a call from the headquarters of State Bank of India. A person came on the line and said, “I am Mr. Bhattachariya, General Manager of SBI. I want to see you.” My father said, “Sir, we can meet tomorrow.” Next day, Mr. Bhattachariya came with big bags of fish curry and said, “I have fulfilled my promise.”
What a pleasant meeting it would have been! On one hand, there was the tasty fish curry. On the other, there was this loving heart that desired to fulfil its promise. He never forgot what he promised even after 20 years. He kept it. Likewise, choose to fulfil the promise you made to others. When you stand by your word, you will progress in all areas of your life. This attitude will earn the love of many in your life who will stand with you at all times. Choose to speak the right words. Keep up your word.
Prayer
“Loving heavenly Father, I realise the power of my words. Let my words be not like empty clouds. Let my words be like rain for those who hear me. Help me to keep my promise to others. Let Your Name alone be glorified through this attitude of mine. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
‘A person who keeps his word is strong!’

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work. We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
