True Beauty 

Once, as children were playing on the street, they saw an unattractive lame man walking by. The children threw stones at the man and made fun of him. After they finished playing, they went to their respective homes. One boy, while he entered his house, saw this hideous man coming out from his house. The boy yelled at his mother for allowing him inside. The mother calmed him down and said, “Son, when you were young, I carried you and was walking on a frozen river. Suddenly, a chunk of ice broke. I escaped but you fell into the river. At that time, this lame man who was a healthy young man then jumped into the river to save you. Because of the frozen lake, his hands and legs became deformed.” The boy was deeply touched by this sacrificial love. 

Likewise, Jesus who was very beautiful to behold became revolting on the cross. The Bible says that His face was so marred that no one would ever be like Him. He lost His beauty because of the sin, sickness and curse of this world. Is any phase of your life unsightly? Bring it to the cross. Receive the beauty of Jesus that is bestowed upon you at the cross. Enjoy your day. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, the sacrifice of Jesus is complete to meet all my needs. I place all the despicable things in my life at the feet of Your cross. Lord Jesus, You were disfigured on the cross to bring beauty into my life. Change my life into a beautiful life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
