Advocate 

When my father was a small school boy, he used to have his lunch in a mango grove. Once, his friends asked him to pluck some mangoes for them as he could climb the tree quickly. He plucked the mangoes and gave it to his friends. Suddenly, the grove became silent. When my father looked down, there was no one. His friends escaped seeing the security guard of the grove. The guard told him to get down from the tree and said that he will hand him over to the land owner. The student leader saw it and pleaded with the guard to leave him alone as he had to go to school. Moreover, he promised to take care of that boy. Somehow, my father escaped that day, from punishment. 

You too have an advocate who will speak on your behalf to the heavenly Father. He is Jesus. When you try to walk in holiness, you may not be able to do it. But do not be disheartened. Jesus Christ pleads to the Father with His blood and saves you from punishment. Moreover, He keeps you from falling into sin. So whenever you face failure, do not sink into the pit of despair; instead, rise up. Shake off the dust. Keep running your race. Your destiny is too precious to lose. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, I thank Jesus for shedding His blood for us. Thank You Jesus for being my advocate so that I can be excused from punishment. Thank You for giving me a clean conscience all the time. Help me to walk in holy ways always. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
