Things Above 

There is provision and protection in the kingdom of God. You belong to the royal generation. You will not lack any good thing. There was a king, who rode on his royal elephant throwing gold coins to the public. Suddenly, there was commotion among the crowd. The elephant began to run amuck. Instead of protecting the king, the bodyguards began running after those gold coins. One of the Ethiopian slaves helped the king to safety by bringing the elephant under control. He spoke something in the ear of the elephant. And the elephant stood still. The king asked, “You are a foreigner. Why didn’t you run after the gold?” He said, “Sir, if I have you, I will have all gold. If I run after those gold coins, I will have very little.” 

Is not this slave a wise man? Yes, he is. Instead of running after gold, he took care of the owner of the gold. My dear friend, when you set your mind only on the earthly things, they will take wings and fly away from you. But, when you take hold of the Creator of Heaven and the earth, all good things will come after you. Receive blessings from God in an effortless manner. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, You created me in my mother’s womb. You are my King. Thank You for providing me with all my needs. Help me not to seek after earthly things, but the kingdom of God. Help me to set my mind on things above and not on things of the earth. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
