Love Your Enemies 

In the year 1986, when my sister died in a gruesome car accident, our hearts were broken into smithereens. We were in a valley of tears. At the same time, the people for whom my father had prayed at their time of crisis stood against us. They said wrong things about us. We cried saying, “Lord, Angel has already gone. Why are you allowing these people to break our hearts?” He said “Son, trust Me and walk behind Me. Remember, I am not going to destroy your enemies; but I am going to bless you more.” We forgave all those who stood against us. Days rolled on. God fulfilled what He promised us! The same people who rose against us came running in search of us. Our ministry too, had grown by leaps and bounds. All around the world, God’s name was glorified. 

My dearly beloved, are you facing a similar situation today? Are there people who received good from you, rising against you now? Do not worry. Choose to love your enemies. Do not have any grudges against them. As a child of God, love has already been poured into your hearts through the Holy Spirit. So, just show love. Do not stop doing good. You will reap a rich harvest at the right time. 

Prayer

“Loving heavenly Father, I come before You with the unbearable pain caused by some people, though I did good to them. I thank You for Your love that is in me already. May Your love abound in me so that I will have the heart to forgive them. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”
