Give to Receive

C.H. Spurgeon was a great man of God who had a burden for orphans. One day, when he preached in a gospel meeting, many came forward and he prayed for them. At that time, he placed an appeal for 300 pounds to build an orphanage. People gave cheerfully. After the collection, he counted the amount and it was exactly 300 pounds. He was filled with gratitude! But alas! God spoke to him and said, “Another man who runs an orphanage with 2000 orphans is praying to me for his need. So, give this 300 pounds to him.” So, Spurgeon took that money and went to see that who was man praying to God claiming His promise, and he joyfully gave the money to him. When he returned to his office, he saw a cheque from a lady for 300 pounds and 300 guineas. A great joy filled him and he thanked God for giving it back with interest!

God never asks you to give without blessing you in return. Obeying God always brings blessings. The only way to receive God’s blessings is to bless others with what God has given you. Giving not only applies to money. You can give your time, your comforting words or constructive ideas which will bless others to lead a happy life. You are indeed blessed to bless others. Give with faith! You will have more than what you give.

Prayer

“Loving Father, all I have is from You. I thank You for teaching me this principle of giving. I believe that ‘giving is receiving.’ I know I will not lack by giving tithes and offerings. Help me to grow in giving and stay blessed. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.”

‘Givers always receive!’

Blessing For Today

Every day we must know the plans that the Lord has kept in store for our lives. The Lord has given us His word to reveal His plans to us. He reveals His plans through the word of God as we read it with reverence and prayer. When we hear His voice through our meditation of His word our hearts will burn like fire filled with joy (Psalm 39:3). Then as we follow it with proclamation of those words through the power of the Holy Spirit through our prayer, the blessings of that day will come upon us. Not only the blessings, but the grace of God shall come upon us to carry out that day’s work.  We have compiled the Bible passage for you to read as well as the Lord’s revelation for each day. We pray that through this the Lord may give you the grace to be connected to Him throughout this year.
