Your Defence 

In the year 1969, my father’s lungs were severely affected and he was unable to breathe. The doctors who treated him gave him one month to live. His condition was hopeless. At that time, Satan came near him and said, “You went around preaching about Jesus on the streets in your free time. See, He has given you this terrible disease. Why do you worship Him still? Worship me. You will have a great status in life and good health. You will never fall sick.” On the other hand, the Holy Spirit descended mightily on my father. He showed the cross of calvary on which Jesus defeated Satan. Moreover, He said, “Jesus gave His life for you. He saved your life when you tried to commit suicide.” God’s presence filled my father and he told Satan, “Devil, you never gave your life for me. Only Jesus gave His life for me. I will serve Him only, whether I live or die.” Thereafter, he lived for 39 years and gloriously served the Lord till his home-call in the year 2008. God is faithful! 

Keep Jesus before you all the time. Do not look at your hopeless situation. When times get harder, lean on the Spirit of the Lord. He will give you a supernatural courage and instil words of faith in you, and this will encourage you to move forward. There is no looking back in God’s kingdom. You should only move forward! 

Prayer

“Loving Father, I bring my hopeless situation before You. I bring my dejected spirit into Your presence. May the Spirit of God raise a banner of defence before me. I pray that my faith will grow and not wane. Strengthen me O Lord! Help me to shut my ears to discouraging words. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.” 

‘Don’t go through your pain; rather grow through it!’
