Roll Your Burden Away 

Many years back, there lived a man called Billy who was working in a mine. One day when he reached home after work, his wife greeted him tearfully as their daughter was suffering from high fever and was on the verge of death. She gave him a 5 rupee note (INR), the last of her savings, to buy medicines for their daughter. On the way, a poor lady met him and told him that her children were famished due to hunger. Billy’s heart was moved and so he gave away that 5 rupee note (INR) to her. Only after sending her did he realize the sad plight of his daughter and was immediately filled with remorse. God’s presence filled him at that time. He went behind a bush nearby and began to pray to the Lord. Then, he went home filled with great peace in his heart. When he returned home, his wife greeted him with a cheerful smile and told him, “I don’t know what happened to our beloved child. Now, the fever has completely disappeared. She is perfectly alright.” Billy’s joy knew no bounds. 

Are you troubled in your heart today? Is there no one to help you? Call on the name of Jesus. Pour out all your burdens on Him for He cares for you. He loves to be the shoulder carrying all your burdens and fill your heart with everlasting joy and peace. 

Prayer

“Loving Father, my burden is too heavy for me to bear. I am stressed out because of this problem. I am unable to stop worrying. I cast my burden upon You today. Fill my heart with peace and joy. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
