Daily Bread 

Before I came into Christ, my mother insisted that I read the Bible every day. If I refused to read the Bible, she would hit me on the head. So, only out of fear, I would read the Bible. But one day a new idea dawned on me. I removed the Bible from its outer wrapper and replaced it with a novel, thus enjoying the story while pretending to read my Bible. My mother would be delighted and highly pleased. Her joy knew no bounds on seeing that the time I spent with ‘my bible’ was increasing day by day. But someday the thief has to be caught, right? Yes! I was caught red-handed by my mother. But after I received Jesus into my heart, every morning when I plead with the Lord saying, “Father! Speak to me through this Bible passage. Guide me. Let these verses become real in my life,” the Lord would speak to me. His presence would fill me and His peace and blessing would overflow within me abundantly. 

My precious friend, when the word of God is implanted in your mind, it prevents you from committing sins. It empowers you with strength to wrestle against the devil. Not only that! When you read the word of God, you can know the power and authority that our Lord has given you to over power the devil who brings about temptations in your life. So read the word daily. 

Prayer

“Loving Lord, thank You for the word of blessing You have given me today. Father give me the grace to meditate on Your word day and night without fail. Let Your word empower me and strengthen me to fight against the devil. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
