Preparing the BrideSample

Day 4: Working While Waiting
Reading: Philippians 2:12–16
Devotional Paul tells believers to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, and in the very next breath, reminds them that it is God who is working in them to will and to act according to His good purpose. These two truths are not in tension. God works in us so that we can work out what He has put in. The bride of Christ does not passively sit and wait for the groom to arrive. She works with expectation and purpose. So the question is a practical one: what are you doing while you wait for Christ's return? Are you sharing the gospel? Serving others? Growing in community? Making disciples? The only thing you can take to heaven is other people whose lives were touched by yours. Every day is an opportunity to advance something eternal. Do not waste it building what will not last.
Reflection: What does your daily life reveal about what you are actually working toward? Are you advancing God's kingdom or coasting on a comfortable faith?
Prayer Lord, stir something in me that has gone still. I do not want to waste the time between now and Your return. Show me who to serve, who to reach, and where to invest what You have given me. Let my life count for something eternal. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Jesus is coming back for a bride who is ready. Not perfect, but prepared. Not finished, but faithfully growing. This 5-day devotional is a call to stop waiting passively and start living with purpose. God has already given you everything you need. The question is what you are doing with it. Each day builds on the last, moving from recognizing what you already have to actively cultivating it, to finishing well when He arrives.
