Preparing the Bride

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: Everything You Need

Reading: 2 Peter 1:1–4

Devotional Peter opens with a declaration that should reframe everything: God's divine power has already given us everything we need for a godly life. Not some things. Not a good start. Everything. Through the knowledge of Christ and His precious promises, we have been equipped with faith, grace, peace, and power. The problem is rarely that we lack resources. The problem is that we fail to recognize what we already possess and put it to use. The bride of Christ does not sit passively waiting for the groom to return. She prepares herself with what she has been given. Today is a good day to take inventory. Stop rehearsing what you think you are missing and start building with what is already in your hands. Your faith is the foundation. Now build on it.

Reflection: What spiritual resources has God already placed in your life that you have been underusing or overlooking?

Prayer Father, forgive me for living as though I am lacking what You have already provided. Open my eyes to the resources You have placed in my life. I have Your Word, Your Spirit, Your grace, and Your promises. That is enough. Teach me to build with what I have been given. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Preparing the Bride

Jesus is coming back for a bride who is ready. Not perfect, but prepared. Not finished, but faithfully growing. This 5-day devotional is a call to stop waiting passively and start living with purpose. God has already given you everything you need. The question is what you are doing with it. Each day builds on the last, moving from recognizing what you already have to actively cultivating it, to finishing well when He arrives.
