Day 3: Seeking First the Kingdom
Reading: Matthew 6:25–34
Devotional Worry is not just an emotional inconvenience. Jesus treats it as a spiritual issue, a sign that something other than God has taken the place of trust in our hearts. When anxiety about money, career, health, or the future dominates our thinking, we are operating from the same framework as someone who has no Father in heaven. But Jesus points to the birds and the flowers and asks a simple question: if God clothes the grass of the field, will He not care for you? The challenge for most believers is not trusting God for eternal salvation. It is trusting Him for this week's needs. Seeking the kingdom first means refusing to let comfort, security, or success crowd out your devotion to Christ. What is consuming your thoughts and energy right now? Whatever competes for God's place in your life is worth examining honestly today.
Reflection: What idol is quietly competing for first place in your life? What would it look like to seek the kingdom first in that specific area?
Prayer Father, I confess I have let worry take up space that belongs to trust. Forgive me for living as though You are unaware of what I need. I choose today to seek Your kingdom before everything else. Provide what I truly need and help me to trust You with what I cannot control. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Jesus is coming back for a bride who is ready. Not perfect, but prepared. Not finished, but faithfully growing. This 5-day devotional is a call to stop waiting passively and start living with purpose. God has already given you everything you need. The question is what you are doing with it. Each day builds on the last, moving from recognizing what you already have to actively cultivating it, to finishing well when He arrives.
