Choosing Unity Over Noise
How do you usually respond when conversations turn into arguments?
Paul gives clear direction about conflict and unnecessary arguments.
“avoid foolish controversies… and quarrels… because these are unprofitable and useless.” (Titus 3:9, NIV)
This doesn’t mean avoiding important conversations. It’s about recognising when something is going nowhere.
Arguments can easily become more about being right than about understanding or growth.
In today’s world, there are endless opportunities to engage in debates—online, in conversations, through media. Not all of them are worth entering.
Paul also addresses divisiveness directly, because it damages community. Unity doesn’t mean everyone agrees on everything. It means we recognise what matters most and hold onto that.
Ephesians 4:3 encourages us to be “eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
That takes effort. It takes humility. It takes restraint. Sometimes the most mature response is choosing not to engage!
Reflection & Practice:
Think about a conversation or topic that tends to pull you into unhelpful debate.
This week, practice stepping back. Instead of responding immediately, ask: Is this going to lead anywhere helpful?
Choose one moment to prioritise peace over proving a point.
About this Plan

We were made for more and created to live differently. We are not just forgiven, we are being formed. Through the gospel, God makes us new and calls us to reflect Jesus in the way we live and love. This Bible plan explores how salvation is not the finish line, but the starting point of a transformed life.
