Words That Reflect Change
If someone listened to your conversations for a day, what would they notice?
Paul connects our speech directly to our faith.
“to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone.” (Titus 3:2, NIV)
Our words shape relationships. They build trust or break it. They bring life or cause harm. Speech is often where what’s happening inside us becomes visible.
Paul reminds the church of who they once were:
“At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived…” (Titus 3:3)
That memory matters. It helps us approach others with humility and patience.
Gentleness is a keyword here. It doesn’t mean weakness. It means being measured, thoughtful, and aware of how our words affect others.
In a culture where quick reactions and strong opinions are common, this kind of speech stands out.
It takes awareness. It takes restraint. It takes a willingness to pause before speaking.
Over time, the way we speak can reflect the work God is doing in us.
Reflection & Practice:
Pay attention to your words today, especially in moments where you feel frustrated or reactive.
For the next few days, practice pausing before responding. Even a brief pause can change the tone of what you say.
About this Plan

We were made for more and created to live differently. We are not just forgiven, we are being formed. Through the gospel, God makes us new and calls us to reflect Jesus in the way we live and love. This Bible plan explores how salvation is not the finish line, but the starting point of a transformed life.
