DAY 6 OF 15

These words were written by a man named Solomon, who is widely known to be the wisest man who ever lived. So that means we can trust that his words carry weight. They’re said with real truth and real wisdom behind them. And here, in one beautifully crafted sentence, Solomon explained a deep theological truth. There is a rhythm to our world. There is an order to all of creation, and that includes what we feel. Sure, the things we feel today may be so heavy, so overwhelming, so all-consuming that we think they will never change. That can leave us feeling completely and totally stuck.

But that’s when remembering Solomon’s biblical wisdom can help. Because if what he wrote is true (and it is!), then we can know fully that what we feel won’t last forever. Just like seasons change, so will our feelings. What’s challenging and difficult to manage today will not be the same one day in the future. And that’s a promise we can hold on to with great hope!

This week, write this verse down where you’ll see it often. Use it as a prayer in seasons when you feel stuck in hard moments and difficult feelings. Let it be a reminder that a new season—a new feeling—is always ahead.

About this Plan

Stuck

We’re all trying to navigate our way forward in this world, and yet, somehow, we tend to get stuck along the way and in more ways than one. And when that happens, we may start to believe that things will never change. In this devotional, we’ll explore the healthy ways in which we can seek freedom from the people, emotions, habits, and more that make us feel stuck. As we do, we’ll see that it’s only in Christ that we can be truly free.
