One of the biggest battlefields of our faith occurs in a place we can’t see with our eyes. It happens in our minds as the enemy wages war for control of our thoughts. Because, as we know, our behaviors and habits follow our thoughts. So, if our thoughts are chaotic, out of control, or fixated on the things of this world, then they’ll eventually lead us to choices that are the same. But turning off your brain isn’t that simple. If it were, it wouldn’t be a battle, would it?
So, we have to do it with the strength and power of God. We have to let Him fight the battle for us! We have to let the Spirit change our minds and, therefore, transform our behaviors, too. For that to happen, we must choose to direct our minds to God. To focus first on His pleasing and perfect will. To turn our minds back to His good when the enemy tries to pull them elsewhere. When we do that, we let our minds be renewed, and our lives be transformed.
This week, talk to your small group about how you can encourage each other to fix your minds on the things of God and focus your thoughts on His truth.

About this Plan

We’re all trying to navigate our way forward in this world, and yet, somehow, we tend to get stuck along the way and in more ways than one. And when that happens, we may start to believe that things will never change. In this devotional, we’ll explore the healthy ways in which we can seek freedom from the people, emotions, habits, and more that make us feel stuck. As we do, we’ll see that it’s only in Christ that we can be truly free.
