Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily Devotion

DAY 42 OF 365

Reflection:

  • In verses 13-15, what instructions did Jesus give His disciples, and what did the disciples find (verse 16)? What does this reveal about Jesus’s ability to direct our steps and provide for us as we follow His instructions?
  • What did Jesus promise the disciples would soon happen (see verse 18), and how did the disciples respond?
  • In verses 22-26, what did Jesus do with the bread and the wine, and what is the significance of this for all believers?

Pray and Apply:

Reread verses 22-26, and reflect on Jesus’s sacrifice. Receive His suffering as your salvation. If there is anything you need to repent, confess your sin to God and let His blood cleanse you with His righteousness. Receive His forgiveness and His love. If you feel comfortable, find a piece of bread or a cracker and juice and take communion. Conclude your time of remembrance with a song or prayer of worship to Jesus, thanking Him for all He gave out of His undying love for you.

About this Plan

Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily Devotion

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
