Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily Devotion

DAY 47 OF 365

Reflection:

  • In verses 2-4, how did Jesus respond to the allegations made against Him before Pilate? Why did He respond this way?
  • How was Barabbas described in verse 7, and how was this strikingly different from Jesus?
  • What did the crowd continue to shout in response to Pilate’s questions?
  • In verse 15, what sentence was given to Jesus, and what happened to Him?

Pray and Apply:

Close your eyes and visualize the trial and torture of Jesus. Imagine the venomous accusations thrown at Him. Hear the crowds shout, “Crucify him!” Picture the beating Jesus endures. Witness Pilate issue Jesus’ execution, as the crowd erupts in cheer. This suffering depicts God’s love for you––just so you could be saved and redeemed. Out of His great love for you, He endured and suffered. Now thank Him for His sacrificial love. Spend time worshipping Him as the One who suffered for you and loves you perfectly.

About this Plan

Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily Devotion

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
