Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily DevotionSample

Reflection:
- What descriptive words in Psalm 6 did David use to describe his current state of emotion? How can you relate to these words? Do they describe your current emotions or a past time of loss and pain in your life?
- David turned to God amidst his anguish. What did David ask God for, and why does He believe God will answer his prayers in verse 4?
- In verses 8-10, what does the Lord do for David, and what does David believe He will do for him? How does this give hope to you during moments of deep sadness and pain?
Pray and Apply:
David was radically honest in his prayers. He didn’t minimize his emotions or his needs when crying out to God. Spend a few minutes practicing and confessing radical honesty while praying to God. You can journal your prayer in your Seek First Journal. What emotions are you feeling right now, and why? What do you need from God? Ask boldly. Then sit silently in the presence of God for a few moments, receiving all the comfort, strength, and direction from the Holy Spirit that you need.

About this Plan

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
