- What would the father’s instructions and wisdom bring to his child? How does this promise encourage you to pursue wisdom and instruction?
- What type of company did the father advise the son not to associate with? What motivations and characteristics did they have?
- What happened to the sinful company in verses 18-19? How have you seen this to be true in life and relevant to your experiences?
Pray and Apply:
Reflect on the influences in your life. Are there relationships that influence you towards disobedience to God or to a greater loyalty to something other than Jesus? Who has the Lord called you to be the light of the world to and how can you inspire them to know Jesus and experience salvation and hope in Him? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you direction and guidance in your relationships. Ask God to give you wisdom and discernment on who to let influence you and how to influence those around you toward Jesus.
