Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily DevotionSample

Reflection:
- What were the Pharisees and religious scholars shocked by in verse 2, and why?
- What behaviors of the Pharisees and religious scholars did Jesus challenge in verses 6-13, and what does this show us about the nature and dangers of trusting in man-made rules and traditions over God’s Word?
- In verses 20-21, what defiles a person and where does evil originate? Why do you think Jesus stressed the importance of this message so much in this account?
Pray and Apply:
Read Psalm 139:23-24. Pray these verses aloud, asking the Holy Spirit to examine your heart. Meditate for a few minutes in the presence of God and ask the Holy Spirit to minister to your heart––convicting you of sin, providing you with wisdom and discernment for a temptation you may be facing, or giving you direction regarding a certain aspect of your life.

About this Plan

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
