Seek First 365: A One Year Bible Reading Plan for Daily DevotionSample

Reflection:
- Why did the disciples attempt to cross from one shore to the other? If they were simply following Jesus’ lead, why did they encounter a storm? What does this teach you about the realities of what you will face when following Jesus?
- The disciples were terrified of the storm. Have you ever been afraid of the events in your life?
- How did Jesus respond to the storm and what hope does that give you about the challenges you are facing?
Pray and Apply:
Think about the challenges you are facing right now as you follow Jesus. What opposition and difficulties are you up against? Picture them as waves– an enormous storm around your boat. Now picture Jesus with you on the boat and reflect on how strong, powerful, and calm He is. Then take a few minutes to pray, asking Jesus to silence the waves around you. Receive the peace He has for you– the calm that comes from a deep confidence in the saving power of Jesus.

About this Plan

Seek First 365 is a one-year Bible reading plan designed to help you build a daily rhythm of reading Scripture, meditating on God’s Word, praying, and journaling. Instead of rushing through several chapters each day, Seek First 365 invites you to slow down and focus on a single passage—or even part of a chapter. The goal isn’t speed, but transformation. Each day is crafted to help you linger in God’s Word, listen to the Spirit, and let His truth shape your heart, mind, and life.
