When God renamed Jacob, He didn’t hand him a new business card; He handed him a new identity. I remember that moment vividly in my own life. After months of wrestling with obedience, I sensed God saying, “You’re not who you were when this began.”

I laughed (nervously). I wasn’t sure who I was anymore. My business card no longer matched my calling. I’d gone from “CEO” to “waiting-on-God enthusiast.” Titles were slipping through my fingers like sand, and part of me wanted to gather them all back — because titles feel safe, don’t they?

Then one day, I stumbled upon the name “Neo.” It means new. It wasn’t a branding idea; it was a revelation. God was saying, “This isn’t a rebrand. It’s a rebirth.” I was learning to live from my new name, not my old need for control.

That’s when I realised — God doesn’t rename you to decorate your story. He renames you to align your identity with your destiny.
