Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 73 OF 365

Ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice (Deuteronomy 32:3–4 NKJV).

Have you personally experienced God’s righteousness?

The Old Testament Law reflects God’s just nature, with Moses stating, “If there is a dispute between men, and they come to court, that the judges may judge them, and they justify the righteous and condemn the wicked” (Deuteronomy 25:1 NKJV). These judges were tasked with representing God's character and rendering decisions aligned with His justice.

However, when we get to the New Testament, Mark recounts the religious leaders' unjust pursuit of Jesus, seeking false testimony to condemn Him (Mark 14:55). These men were a mockery to the standard God desired though the Law of Moses. As we will see in future devotions, Jesus will be wrongly condemned by these wicked judges in order to become the perfect sacrifice, offering His righteousness to mankind.

As a follower of Christ, you are called to express His righteousness, standing firm in the face of injustice, showing mercy, and striving to uphold God's standards in all your dealings.

Employment Point: Receive God’s righteousness through Jesus’ perfect sacrifice.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
