Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 63 OF 365

Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV).

Are you committed to investing in the spiritual growth of children?

Surprisingly, Jesus' disciples didn’t value children highly. "Then they [the parents] brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them" (Mark 10:13 NKJV). But how did the Creator of children perceive them? "But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, ‘Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God’" (Mark 10:14 NKJV).

Not only does Jesus welcome children into His kingdom, but He also emphasizes the necessity for adults to become like them, humbling themselves to enter. Jesus adds, "Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it" (Mark 10:15 NKJV).

Let me ask you, do you possess Jesus' compassion for children? Do you dedicate time and resources to foster their growth into strong disciples of Jesus? My hope is that you cherish children and invest your time in nurturing their spiritual development.

Employment Point: Serve the little children while imitating their humility.
