Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth (Colossians 3:2 NKJV).
Are you trying to serve two masters?
Israel attempted to worship both God and idols, as highlighted in Isaiah 46. God asks, “To whom will you liken Me, and make Me equal and compare Me, that we should be alike?” (Isaiah 46:5 NKJV). In other words, who is truly like God?
In our own lives, we may try to balance our devotion to God with lesser pursuits. Paul urges the church in Colossians 3 to "seek those things which are above" (Colossians 3:1 NKJV) and warns that covetousness is a form of idolatry (Colossians 3:5). What competes for your attention today? Are you fully serving Christ, or are you divided? Let’s make sure our hearts are entirely devoted to God.
Employment Point: Serve Jesus and make your heart His home.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
