Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death (Proverbs 16:25 NKJV).
Where do you place your trust and confidence?
The book of Proverbs warns us that relying only on our own judgment can lead to trouble. Instead, like Paul, we should trust in the Lord for guidance and protection. Observe the three tenses in 2 Corinthians 1:10. Let’s consider the context, beginning with 2 Corinthians 1:9: “Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, who delivered [past tense] us from so great a death, and does deliver [present tense] us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver [future tense] us” (2 Corinthians 1:9-10 NKJV). God’s past and present deliverance assures Paul that He’d do the same in the future.
Are you leaning on your own strength, or are you depending on God’s support? Trusting in God’s wisdom and protection will help you navigate life’s challenges with confidence and peace.
Employment Point: Depend upon God’s protective hand always.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
