Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression (Proverbs 19:11 NKJV).
Who equips you to be a minister of the New Testament?
Paul faced fierce opposition, but he remained committed to his mission because he relied on God’s sufficiency, not his own strength. Paul writes, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant” (2 Corinthians 3:5–6 NKJV).
In your own life, are you leaning on God’s power rather than your own? It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the demands of ministry or daily life. But remember, God equips us and empowers us to fulfill His calling. Just as Paul trusted in God’s strength, so should we. When you feel inadequate or unsure, turn to God and trust that He will provide what you need. His grace is sufficient for every challenge you face.
Employment Point: Trust in God’s sufficiency for you as a minister of the New Testament.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
