Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

DAY 245 OF 365

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7 NKJV).

Are you seeking unity the right way?

Proverbs 1:11–19 warns us against the wrong kind of unity. True unity is about working together, despite our differences. Unfortunately, some people use their talents selfishly rather than helping others. Observe how Paul uses the Trinity as a model for diversity through unity in 1 Corinthians 12:4–6 (NKJV): “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.”

Take a moment to think about how you use your skills. Are they for personal gain, or are they used to make a positive impact on others? Just as the Trinity reflects perfect unity, we should aim to bring people together in a way that honors and supports one another. Celebrate the diversity among us and use your gifts to serve others genuinely.

Employment Point: Strive for spiritual unity through diversity, like the Trinity.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
