Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Before Abraham was, I AM (John 8:58 NKJV).
Who is David’s greatest descendant?
In today’s reading, the transition from ungodly Saul to righteous David emerges in 1 Chronicles 10:13–14 (NKJV): “So Saul died for his unfaithfulness, which he had committed against the LORD, because he did not keep the word of the LORD, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance. But he did not inquire of the LORD; therefore, He killed him, and turned the kingdom over to David, the son of Jesse.”
God promises Saul’s successor, David, an eternal house, throne, and kingdom, which Jesus will fulfill as the eternal Son of God. Jesus will be the greatest King to ever walk the earth! Saul made many mistakes, and so did David, but Jesus will be the perfect King!! He will rule with justice and mercy. Let us respond in worship and adore Jesus, who is David’s greatest descendant.
Employment Point: Lavish David’s greatest descendant with praise.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
