Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:24 NKJV).
Are you worshiping the Lord in a manner that pleases Him?
David's attempt to bring the ark of God back to the tabernacle ended in failure when Uzza disobeyed God's command to never touch the ark, resulting in his death (1 Chronicles 13:9–10; Numbers 4:15). David later learned that their failure was due to not following God's prescribed order for transporting the ark (1 Chronicles 15:13).
Whether worshiping under the Old Covenant in Israel or the New Covenant in the church, God's Word should always be our guide to please Him. As Paul instructs the Corinthians, "Let all things be done decently and in order" (1 Corinthians 14:40 NKJV). Therefore, our worship should be governed by God's holy Word and not our feelings that may disobey God’s commands.
Employment Point: Worship God according to His Word.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
