Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year TwoSample

Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do (Luke 23:34 NKJV).
Do you forgive others as Jesus did?
In our reading today, we see Jesus forgiving those who crucified Him. Despite His suffering, He did not curse or judge them; instead, He asked the Father to forgive them. Remember, "all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12 NKJV).
Search your mind and ask yourself, “Are there people in my life I need to forgive?” If so, please forgive them. If the Son of God can grant forgiveness to those who tortured and killed Him, what does that mean for us today? How can we extend the same forgiveness?
Let's choose to follow Jesus' example of forgiveness, even when it's difficult. As we forgive, we reflect His love and mercy to others.
Employment Point: Imitate Jesus, who freely forgave others.

About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions help readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word—adapted from the book Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year Two, by Dr. Ken J. Burge, Sr.
