TODAY’S STORY

Waters Part and Walls Fall from Numbers 13-14; Joshua 2-3; 5-6

Note to the parents:

This story is filled with suspense and action! Use this as an opportunity to get your child up and moving. Encourage them to get up and march around the room seven times and blow pretend trumpets.

Help your child recall the story by asking simple questions about what happened.

Examples:

• Did Rahab help or hurt Joshua’s spies?
• What did God tell Joshua to do?
• Did Joshua trust and obey God?

Together, think about what you have learned. Invite your child to ask you the question. Encourage them to add their thoughts or fill in a blank when prompted.

What did we learn about GOD?

• God gave Joshua and His people directions.
• God showed them that, with His help, they could do what He told them to do.
• When they trusted Him, He made a way.

What did we learn about PEOPLE?

• People can show trust in God by following His directions, just like Joshua did–even when it seemed impossible or crazy. This is what it means to live by faith.
